The National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI) is a coalition dedicated to strengthening the medication process by enabling electronic prescribing (ePrescribing) adoption and reducing barriers to joining the effort to improve patient safety.

Regional Supporters

NEPSI collaborates with state and local organizations who regard ePrescribing as an antidote to a compromised prescribing system. Regional supporters champion the shared ePrescribing mission and engage in the delivery of the NEPSI offering to their members and constituents.

Local Initiatives

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has teamed up with Sprint and Allscripts and created a new turnkey program allowing Anthem Network Providers to start ePrescribing at no cost to them. This solution provides real time patient eligibility, formularies and medication history information. Providers can write and renew prescriptions electronically. Further, to help enable the mobility of this solution we are making available to Anthem Network Providers a free Sprint Mogul device with the purchase of a specialized cell phone/data plan. This high end free mobile computer/smart phone will be customized with everything a provider will need to start ePrescribing.
